My role: I led the IoT retrofit of the airport's passenger-announcement infrastructure, end to end.

King Khalid International Airport — the gateway to Riyadh, one of the busiest airports in the Middle East — was still running passenger announcements on a Push-To-Talk system installed in the 1970s.

I led the effort to rebuild it on IoT, linking the new system to the airport’s operational database so announcements could be targeted by zone and gate rather than broadcast blind across the terminal. The retrofit had to happen without ever taking live airport operations offline.

The result: centralized, zone-accurate announcements delivered to over 720,000 speakers across all three terminals — infrastructure that has kept running, uninterrupted, since handover.
